Mr. Pencil Saves Doodleburg is a game available on the Leapster Explorer. It also works on the LeapPad Explorer and any similar LeapFrog devices that accept Explorer cartridges. It was developed by Chewy Software.
Plot[]
The main plot starts with a broadcast on Doodleburg Animated News hosted by Diane Inkwell and Chip Blaze. The broadcast informs people about the latest weather fiasco, “a disaster the likes of which we haven’t seen since The Great Watercolor Flood.” According to this broadcast, multiple mysterious tornadoes swept through Doodleburg hours earlier that day. The aforementioned tornadoes stole the lines, shapes, letters and colors of Doodleburg, leaving citizens in need of help.
The protagonists Dot and Dash have an exchange regarding this, when suddenly titular character Mr. Pencil and his toolbox pals (Ms. Brush, Marky, Professor Shapes, and E-Raser) fly through the window. They introduce themselves , and then, Dot, Dash, and the anthropomorphic writing utensils then travel across the city to fix various locations, where they learn shape theory, writing tips, and color trivia.
After fixing the damage caused by tornadoes, Dot and Dash are awarded the key to the city by Mayor Squiggles. The children remark that they couldn’t have done it without the help of Mr. Pencil and his toolbox pals, but when they attempted to give them credit, they ceased to exist. A man remarked that the situation was similar to when an imaginary friend taught him how to whistle, but Dot insisted that the toolbox pals were real. The key was awarded nonetheless.
