Pet Pals is a game for the Leapster learning system that was originally released in 2006. The game was re-released for the Leapster Explorer in 2010, exclusively at Target stores. [2]

The game is based around simple pet care tasks, such as feeding your puppy, taking them on walks, and entering them in competitions. Many of these activities are based around using the touch-screen, as to teach the user how to write and identify letters of the alphabet.

The 3 dog breeds available are the Husky (referred to as 'Malamute' in the game's code), the Poodle ('Poodle'), and the Golden Retriever ('Standard').

A direct sequel, Pet Pals 2: Best of Friends was released for the Leapster Explorer in 2011.

    • Some Pet function menus mention urination and defecation, although they are not shown in-game. [5]
